Dressed up to the nines


To access the Tevatron tunnel we had to attend 3 safety courses (with exam !) and had to wear and carry:
overshoes, gloves, a bottle of compressed air (5min. reserve), dosimeter, TLD badge and a Oxygen Deficiency Monitor (ODM, tunnel is classified ODH zone 1).

The tunnel circumference is about the size of the SPS and lies aprox. 6m underground. The blue magnet on the left is a warm dipole magnet. Close to were we stand is a test installation of a crystal collimator, which was debugged during our access.
